What is it?
Pueraria montana var. lobata is a ropelike semiwoody plant that is a member of the pea family. It is deciduous with leaves alternately arranged and compound, with three broad leaflets up to 20 cm inches across. Leaflets may be entire or deeply 2-3 lobed with hairy margins. Individual flowers, about 15 cm long, are purple, highly fragrant and borne in long hanging clusters.
Impact
Out competes native species for space and resources. Along with damaging tree bark it is known to uproot trees by adding weight.
